Beautiful Australia

Happy Thursday everyone! The weekend is almost here. I want to share my trip to Australia back in December for this week's throwback Thursday. We stayed in Sydney which reminded me like Asia, the sense that there was always something thrilling going on somewhere and if you turned the corner, you could be part of it. I love the wide array of diversity of modern and old architecture from Jorn Utzon’s Expressionist Sydney Opera House to the large amount of Victorian buildings such as the Queen Victoria Building with British Colonial influence. Not to mention the lively food scene, the charm of a coastal setting with endless days at the beach and so much more. I miss the land down under!

We went on a cruise along the coast of Australia and stopped at Cairnes. Look at the clear blue serene water.
A necessary jumping pic :)

While it was winter in San Francisco, summer was full -fledged in Australia and I definitely had my fair share of the sun, too much of it I'd say. After snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef, I got a painful sunburn that only lasted 3 days but left prominent stubborn tan lines that are still noticeable nine months later.
Camels on Airlie Beach
The famous Bondi Beach
The peacefully beautiful Royal Botanical Gardens
My favorite strapless jumpsuit from Witchery, an Australian brand. This particular piece ran on the smaller side and I ended up getting a size 4. In general their clothes are slim fitting and also suitable for smaller frames.
What better way to ring in the New Years with fireworks, the Australian way! I so wish I had a better camera back then.

  1. Seems like you had an amazing time, despite the painful sunburn!

  2. I've always wanted to visit Australia! The only thing keeping me is the LONG flight (and the cost haha). Your photos are lovely! And that jumpsuit looks great on you. Hope the sunburn heals soon!
